We live in Illinois, if that matters. My Grandmother has granted her Great-Grandson a Warranty Deed with a Life Estate for her home. Now she wishes to sell the property, but can she do it without his consent? The only wording is if he ever wants to sell it, there are three people that have an option to buy it.

Hello, I have a mortgage worth $175K, payments 1450/mo. @ 6.25%. Home is valued at about $315K. I'm looking to refi, would it be smart to consolidate $20k worth of other debt, where the interest rate is higher on those cards and loan? Or should I just refi at 5.25%?
My husband and I originally got a bare land loan from our lender - this became a construction loan and eventually a home loan. We have T andamp; I taken out each month and just recently found out that our lender has been taking out a grossly undercalculated amount for taxes - as if there were no home on the land. They paid the county taxes, but have now bumped up our mortgage payment by over 900 hundred dollars for the next few months to make up this andquot;deficiency.andquot; They say they can only ...
Here's my situation in a nutshell:
1 - I have 8 good mortgs on rental properties and my personal home
2 - I have 1 really high mortg on a property that I'm trying to sell and I can't make the payments on it anymore with my current cash flow. I will pay the bank back the full amount when it sells since there's some equity in the property, but it doesn't make sense ot me to keep borrowing from other sources (which have now pretty much dried up) to make the mortg payments.
