Neil Kelly Company aquires Mr. Sun Solar

Neil Kelly Company, the largest design/build remodeling company in the Northwest, announces the acquisition of Mr. Sun Solar, a Portland-based company specializing in the design, installation and service of solar panels and solar energy products.
As part of the deal, seven employees will join Neil Kelly Company, including John Patterson, president of Mr. Sun Solar, who will remain an active part of the business. The addition of solar services is expected to add 25 percent to the Home Performance division’s annual revenue.

Normandy Remodeling designer wins regional and national Chrysalis Awards

Normandy Remodeling Designer Leslie (Marzec) Lee was recently named a 2013 Chrysalis Award Winner for Remodeling Excellence for two of her projects. The entries were judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure.
One of Lee’s projects won regionally, while the other brought in a national title.

OSHA cites 26 contracting firms for violations during storm recovery in New Jersey

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited 26 companies for violating safety standards during storm recovery work at towns along New Jersey's shore. Most contractors have disputed these allegations, which are frequently related to exposing workers to fall hazards and not providing employees with legally required training or equipment.

Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association’s (SMACNA’s) new “HVAC Systems Sound and Vibration Guide” is available for a 45-day public review. Interested parties are encouraged to submit comments to techmanualsreview@smacna.org. Visit SMACNA’s Technical Papers/Guidelines Web page to download a review copy. Comments are due to SMACNA no later than June 7.
